Auto Brake Repair: A Critical Safety Device

Brake Kingdom certified auto mechanics offer a Free Brake Repair Inspection.

Brakes for your vehicle is by far it’s most important safety system. Being able to slow down or stop at a moments notice will help avoid accidents. Improperly working brakes will not do their job.

Brake Kingdom performs an actual visual inspection, measuring pad and shoe thickness, check for even wear of the pads and shoes, check rotors for run out and hot spots, check hardware to make sure it is working properly and that it is adjusted properly.

We make sure the wheel cylinders, brake lines and brake master cylinder are not leaking, inspect calipers for wear, free movement and fluid leaks, and check the level and condition of the brake fluid. Inspect for proper routing and placement of the brake and anti lock brake sensors.

All of these components need to be working properly for the vehicle to have complete brake system effectiveness.
Things can go wrong over time. Brake fluid can get contaminated over time with absorption of moisture and copper. This decreases the effectiveness of the hydraulics within your brake system making a less responsive brake pedal to the touch or feel which can delay braking power.

Brake Kingdom recommends a brake system inspection with each oil change or a minimum every 6 months or every 6,000 miles. Then if the inspection reveals any issues with the brake system for your own safety and the safety of others, have it repaired to keep the brake system of your vehicle operating at 100% effectiveness.

Brake warning signs include :

  • Grinding, Squeaking or squealing brakes
  • Brake pedal feels spongy
  • Shaking steering wheel
  • Car wobbling or pulsating when you drive at highway speeds.
  • Brake Lights can indicate issues like a parking brake on, low fluid, or more seriously like a hydraulic system failure.
  • Pull – The car pulls to one side when brakes are applied might indicate under-inflated tire, or brakes are in need of repair.
  • Hard Brake Pedal

  • Lot of pressure to make brakes function might indicate power brake trouble, restricted hydraulic lines, frozen calipers and/or wheel cylinders, and even damaged brake linings.
quealing sounds – excessive squeal, screech, grinding, groaning, or bang means brakes need attention.

  • When the brake pedal, steering wheel or vehicle shakes or vibrates or pulsates when applying the brakes could be a need to resurface disc brake rotors or more seriously a loose component or faulty steering mechanism.

  • Low Pedal – means pedal nearly touches floorboard before working may require a simple adjustment – or something more serious
